Notes other than S and P can have multiple positions denoted by numerals

They are usually written in two forms

Or as R1 R2 R3
3. Repetition of a note
A Note symbol may be prefixed by an integer to signal the number of times it should be repeated
Example 10R2
3. Sequence of notes.
A sequence of notes can be specified with optional white space embedded.
A sequence of notes may be optionally specified within parenthesis.
Example S G M P N
or ( S G M P N )
or (4S 9G 2M 3P 3N)
4. Repeating sequence.
A sequence can be repeated as many times.
Like 4( 4S 9G 2M 3P 3N)
5. Combining sequences
Sequences written together form a single sequence
Like 2(S G) 4(M D)
which can have repetition like 5( 2(S G) 4(M D) )
6. Holding notes
A single note may be held for a longer time written like
4.S
This is difference from repetition.
4S
Holding applies to a single note only. Does not apply to a sequence.
